Taking Care of Your Skin When its Hot and Humid
It's hot, humid, and rolling the windows down isn't doing the trick for keeping it fresh when we are outside. With these high temps and sunbeams, we have to make sure we are still taking care of our skin from the inside out. Staying hydrated not only means keeping our facial skin and neck moisturized, but also drinking enough water and eating the right amount of fruits and veggies.
Here are a few things that are super hydrating for your face and body:
Cut back on alcohol and caffeine: Try for a mocktini while watching the sugar intake.
Wear flowy clothes that allow air to reach your skin to keep you cooler: You know, throw your best threads on and feel fancy-free and footloose.
Hot Drinks: Hard to believe right? Without getting into physics, it's important to understand that yes, drinking a warm beverage in the heat tells the body to cool down.
Make your water fancy: Yes, fancy up your water with fruit or veggie infusion. At the Beauty Bar, we like to mix some strawberries, cucumbers, and mint together with rich hydration.
WASH YOUR FACE: a little humidity is always good for keeping your skin soft and hydrated. However, too much water in the air can leave your complexion sweaty and shiny and lead to breakouts. Sweat stays on the skin longer in the humidity because there is nowhere for it to evaporate. Wash your face in the morning and as soon as you get home for the day.
Face masks: Grab some oats, honey and a bit of yogurt. Stir until the paste is content. Apply to freshly cleansed face and leave no > than 10 minutes.
